You should also fill up all choices available to you, in CORRECT Sequence

It is mandatory to take admission in colleges you are allotted, to take part in next round, so you get a chance to get next Better college ( according to your choice filled up ).

So For example, in Round I, you may be allotted a college in ” Gondia” : You have to go there and take admission there. BUT this keeps your option open for Round 2,3,4, to upgrade and select next college (as per your choice form).

Now, in Round II, say 50 people did not take admission to allotted colleges ( they may have selected from 15% Quota or selected AIIMS or better local colleges from state Quota etc). So these 50 seats/vacancies are now offered to all those eligible state quota students. So you get a chance to upgrade, and move up to a better college.

Now Round III , Again there may be vacancies on account of students moving to other college or not reported or other reasons So these Round II vacancies/seats are are offered to eligible students, so you get a chance again.

Typically there may also be Round IV or ” Mop up round”. All vacant seats from All India Quota, or state quota or vacant special Quota like PH etc, that were not filled up in first 3 rounds are offered to eligible candidates in this final round.

This is why you need to be proactive and alert to avail of your chance to get admission in proper college. If you are not alert and methodic, somebody who had lesser marks than you could get a better college!

The “Choice form” filling sequence is MOST IMPORTANT, and determines whether you get your desired college or not.
IF you make a mistake when filling this form, there is nothing you can do, even if a college seat is vacant.

You should also note that you can fill a “Retention form” after any Round, once you take admission to a college that you like.
If you fill retention form, your admission will remain in same college, and you will not be eligible to participate in next rounds.

So Good Luck .. May you get the BEST College !
